Frightened by the exposure of his wicked character, terrorist Kayumba Nyamwasa fabricated a narrative, predicting that “the gods of sogokuru (ancestors) are on their side and nothing will change it.” He thinks this will divert his followers from his exposed crimes. Terrorism is one of them. Between 2010 and 2014, his operatives detonated grenades that killed 17 innocent Rwandans and injured 400.
A report by the UN group of Expert, dated 31st December 2018, says that “Gen Nyamwasa, who is exiled in South Africa, has frequently traveled in the region on a recruiting drive for his newly formed rebel group called P5, which is under the Rwanda National Congress RNC.”
RNC, in partnership with Uganda Chieftaincy Military Intelligence (CMI), is behind the incarcerations and torture of hundreds of Rwandans on Uganda’s soil. For two years now, Uganda has facilitated RNC in recruiting and training rebels with the aim of destabilizing Rwanda. Many Rwandans in Uganda are being tortured in CMI dungeons and others lost their lives simply because of their refusal to be recruited as rebels.
On August 21st, the Uganda and Rwanda Heads of States signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that took place in Luanda, Angola. This was to solve conflicts between the two countries. Rwanda, in protecting its citizens from abductions and inhuman torture, it issued a travel advisory, warning Rwandan nationals from traveling to Uganda since their security was not guaranteed.
Despite signing of the Angola MoU, RNC goons, with full complicity of CMI are still harassing and torturing innocent Rwandans, not mentioning the hundreds still languishing in Uganda’s jail.
