Envious of Rwanda’s serious vaccine factory program, Museveni and Rujugiro set their attack mouthpiece David Himbara aka Muruganwa to tarnish the project.
Late August 2021, news that pharmaceutical giant BioNTech had selected Rwanda and Senegal to produce mRNA vaccines made headlines worldwide. It turned anti-Rwanda forces’ stomachs and crippled their narratives by establishing Rwanda as a leader on the continent in the fight against Covid-19 and in pharmaceutical technology.
For Museveni, the BioNTech news was disastrous as he had already been promising a cure and a vaccine against Covid-19. It was easy for Museveni; all he had to do was to call a number of charlatans and crooks for a photo shoot and make wild promises.
So far, all Museveni managed to produce is sanitizer and a garlic powder as replacement for his promised cures and vaccines. His scientist, Professor Sarfaraz Niazi, has since been unmasked as a phony and his financiers, Harun Aydi, linked to terrorism and deported by Kenyan officials.
Meanwhile, on the 26th of October 2021, Rwanda signed the BioNTech deal with the construction of the state-of-the-art manufacturing plant for mRNA-based vaccines slated for mid-2022 according to official sources. The construction of the plant is the be financed by the European Investment Bank with an initial capacity of 50 million doses. Imagine his shock when Museveni heard all this was happening in Rwanda!
Predictably, Museveni’s reaction in January 2022, is to get his paid mouthpiece Himbara to smear by questioning a BioNTech deal backed up by the European Investment Bank. Does he think such a spin will make his elaborate prank with Niazi, and Aydi?
No one believes Museveni will produce a vaccine, and if he claimed to have one; even Himbara would not dare take one. As for BioNTech, Rwanda’s vaccine partner, the mouthpiece probably already has a shot of their products in his arm. It is called the Pfizer-BioNTech mRNA vaccine.
