UNGoE at it again in another political fictitious report, but the joke is on the sponsors

The so-called UN Group of Experts has released yet another report riddled with deliberate falsehoods against Rwanda and the M23.

It’s nothing new. Just recycled accusations, reheated propaganda, and a narrative drafted in Kinshasa but conveniently endorsed in New York.

The report alleges that RDF targets innocent civilians and that M23 seeks to establish a parallel state in liberated areas, alongside other claims stripped of context and balance. These assertions are presented as conclusions, yet they resemble political messaging far more than the product of serious investigation.

For UNGoE it has never been about establishing facts, it is about managing perceptions. And once again, the report systematically downplayed or ignored crimes committed by FARDC and its allies.

Wazalendo militias fade into the background; FDLR atrocities are downtoned. Burundian forces and foreign mercenaries operate almost entirely outside the frame and selective hierarchy of crimes is constructed to protect Kinshasa and absolve its partners.

Even more the root causes behind the emergence of M23 were deliberately erased as if they mean nothing. Years of persecution of Congolese Tutsi, repeated massacres, broken agreements, and institutional exclusion are treated as irrelevant details. The report pretends M23 emerged in a vacuum, disconnected from the lived reality of eastern Congo.

It even advances the fiction that M23 would liberate territory, restore security, and then hand governance back to the very authorities that engineered the crisis. That assumption alone exposes the bad faith embedded in the document.

In truth, this UN report on Congo reads like an autopsy of a diplomatic lie. Crimes are ranked according to political usefulness. Allies are shielded. Genocidaires are quietly rehabilitated. Mercenaries are normalized and increasingly illegitimate power in Kinshasa is sanctified in the name of sovereignty. Dialogue, under such conditions, is not encouraged. It is deliberately sabotaged.

All this unfolds at a dangerous moment when hate speech against Tutsi and state-driven genocide ideology are openly spreading in the DRC, promoted by government officials and amplified through the national broadcaster, RTNC, with little international resistance.

At the same time, FARDC bombardments against civilian populations, including Congolese Tutsi, are intensifying across eastern Congo. These realities are either minimized or ignored by the very report claiming to explain the conflict.

Instead, a small group of five UN officials, “experts” in name only, choose to fabricate a parallel reality. In so doing, they effectively take sides with the genocidal FDLR, whose neutralization lies at the heart of the Washington Accords they invoke while hollowing them out.

The Democratic Republic of Congo already hosts more than enough negative forces. Armed groups, foreign militias, mercenaries, and criminal networks embedded in the state continue to devastate the region.

In brief this report does not seek peace. It organizes impunity and administers war. UN taxpayers should not be asked to finance yet another one masquerading as expertise.
