Get ready for Tshisekedi sabotage of Washington-brokered peace deal

Tomorrow in Washington DR, the foreign ministers of Rwanda and DRC are expected to sign a peace agreement, which if put into actions will (theoretically) see the region at peace – and even prosperous – again.

Yet, as peace brokers in the US working, they probably don’t know that the Tshisekedists in Kinshasa have continue to fuel the conflict that they claim they want to participate in ending. For instance for weeks, Kinshasa sponsored Wazalendo militias have been provoking M23, in the liberated zones of Bukavu and Goma.

Even a child will see this is counter to any peace efforts.

Anyone with a sane mind can see that Tshisekedi is deliberately undermining the whole peace process.

When his thugs of a so-called national army attack innocent civilians, all they want is provoke the M23 into responding with fire, so he can cry foul and rally international sympathy.

It is a staged Tshisekedist drama, repeated again and again.

At the same time, he has been mobilizing his political base to denounce M23 gains and accuse Rwanda of aggression. All while his own army works with FDLR, the genocidal force that has haunted the region for decades. Tshisekedi is not after peace. He is after distraction.

Now he is pushing a new narrative, calling for a certain regional court to indict Rwanda for fabricated crimes in eastern Congo. This is the same man who has done nothing to dismantle the FDLR or disarm the criminal networks inside his own military. His government is full of contradictions.

The peace agreement in Washington will definitely expose his double games as soon as his Foreign Affairs minister signs the peace deal.

The international community is starting to see this pattern. Tshisekedi cannot blame his failures on Rwanda forever. The more he spins, the more he exposes himself. His leadership is built on lies, excuses and manufactured threats. He hopes the peace deal will buy him legitimacy. What it will actually bring is scrutiny.

The truth is already clear in Goma, Bukavu, and other areas M23 has secured. There is order where there used to be chaos. There is relief where there was fear. Tshisekedi does not want this story told. Because it shows that the real problem was never M23. It was Kinshasa.

So yes, peace will be signed. But Tshisekedi’s actions are already writing its obituary. The world is watching. The mask is slipping.
