Burundian Ndayishimiye caught in a web of lies, fears a brutal coup d’etat

To secure the support of CNDD-FDD – Burundi’s ruling party – the recent catastrophic deployment of the country’s army in DR Congo, President Evariste Ndayishimiye aka Gen. Neva made several promises. These are now returning to haunt him.

Gen. Neva promised victory, but only achieved terrible defeat, with Burundian troops getting routed in every battle they engaged in against M23.

Gen. Neva assured his CNDD-FDD Generals that they would “enrich themselves” (on proceeds of plunder in DRC), but ended up enriching himself only from the dollars his Congolese counterpart Tshisekedi paid him – to send Burundi troops to die in Congo conflict.

And then, the Burundian ruler swore that the deployment would not affect Burundi, only for thousands of the poor, underfed, badly trained “Imbonerakure” army to end up dead on the plains of Kivu. Gen. Neva’s lie is now haunting him.

The man was warned by his (so-called) generals from the Cibitoke province that his adventurism in Congo would destabilize Burundi. Also, they warned him about the FDLR genocidaires: “You will never manage to control them!” they told him. “It is like rearing a python, eventually it swallows the owner!”

Their words have turned out to be true. FDLR as a group calls the shots in Bujumbura, and Gen. Neva is boxed in between them, and furious Burundian senior army officers.

The group of generals from Cibitoke – the province bordering Dr. Congo – also is allied with several high-ranking officials, including the current prime minister, and even the presidential chief military advisor.

Their pleas for Ndayishimiye to stay away from Congo’s internal issues were ignored, and now, Cibitoke is paying the price. They are furious.

Currently, the death toll in the Burundian Army is estimated by some to be around 2,500 but others say over 5,000 have fallen in DR Congo.

President Ndayishimiye aka Gen. Neva made sure that soldiers from his Gitega province were spared from deployment, hence the majority of casualties coming from Cibitoke.

“Neva is selfish. We lost thousands of our sons while his sons were hidding in villas and drinking champagne,” an angry regime insider confided to us.

That’s the general mood amongst officials, as well as senior officers within the military.

In a private meeting with generals from Cibitoke, it’s reported Prime Minister General Ndirakobuca aka Ndakugarika fulminated: “Cibitoke cannot become the permanent residence of FDLR genocidaires and other militias under the illusion that they can sneak into Rwanda, kill civilians and run back whenever they want!”

“Ndakugarika” basically was voicing a generalized dissatisfaction with Gen. Neva.

The mess Ndayishimiye finds himself in is due to his insatiable greed for money married to a deep-rooted genocide ideology (he can only be happy when he’s participating in the massacres of Tutsis, whether it be those in neighboring countries like DRC).

He greedily accepted the bribery of a few millions of dollars from Tshisekedi to illegally and secretly deploy the Burundian Army to join the Congolese’s wars.

In defeat, his army’s allies – aka FDLR – retreated to Burundi, in the one province that doesn’t want them.

Yet Gen. Neva cannot dissociate himself from them after propagating their anti-tutsi hate speech and taking their money to launch “operations” against Rwanda. Effectively, Ndayishimiye is caught between a rock and a hard place.

The peasant ruler now lives in mortal fear, of a coup d’etat and, if he is toppled, charges of high treason.
