European Union’s Return to Leopoldian Tactics in Backing Tshisekedi’s thuggery in DRC

Once again, the European Union has dared issue condemnations against the M23, a Congolese political-military movement defending the rights of Congolese Tutsis to exist in their own country.

For three years M23 has been liberating territories, driven by the urgent need to protect their communities from the brink of annihilation. Yet in response, the EU, with its colonial mindset, continues to support Tshisekedi’s coalition of armed gangs sworn to the extermination of Tutsi communities of eastern DRC.

Congolese Tutsis has been under the threat of genocide since the 1990s, when those responsible for the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda took refuge in Zaire (now DRC).

And what did the EU do at the time? Absolutely nothing.

The same silence continues to plague their actions today as they turn a blind eye to the suffering of the Congolese Tutsi.

But a people can’t sit around, waiting for their killers to finish them off!

Enter M23, the movement that launched its first defence of its communities between 2012 and 2013. They fought tooth and nail, and inflicted defeat after defeat against the motley collection of bandits known as the Congolese army, FARDC, and its terrorist partners such as FDLR, Mai Mai, Wazalendo and more.

So, M23 just in defending its people became a thorn in the side of the EU, who bizarrely decided to point fingers at Rwanda for this very act of self-defence.

The EU fails (actually refuses) to recognize the root causes of this conflict. It prefers to run with Kinshasa propaganda, that M23 “is Rwandan.”

When in 2019 Tshisekedi took power as president, the opportunity for peace appeared.

Talks were underway in Kinshasa, to finalize the Nairobi protocols which promised a peaceful resolution to the conflict.

But what did the Congolese army do in November 2021? It attacked defenders’ positions, thus triggering a new round of armed conflicts. But yet again the EU’s response is to attempt to blame Rwanda.

The truth is, the EU has only one agenda: to appease their puppet, Tshisekedi, while ignoring the root causes of the conflict.

The M23 movement, led by Bertrand Bisimwa and General Makenga, has a clear objective: return to the negotiation table, with Kivu’s pacification at the heart of the discussions.

Tshisekedi on the other hand is a warmonger with zero interest in peace.

The EU and everyone else inclined to side with Tshilombo look more ridiculous by the day.
