In an interview on France24, the Burundian dictator Evariste Ndayishimiye openly manifested his lack of clarity linguistically and mentally, and displayed utter ignorance of reality on key issues. On the crisis in Eastern DR Congo, on bilateral relations with Rwanda, and even on continental affairs, the Burundian President drifted and meandered around just to illustrate how disconnected from reality he truly is.
With over 20,000 soldiers deployed in Congo, Ndayishimiye tried to sell himself in the interview as a non-party to the conflict. Almost four years ago, prior to his disastrous deployment in DR Congo, his lies might have been believable. With thousands of soldiers in DR Congo, Ndayishimiye’s laughable solution is a miraculous encampment of those fighting his genocidal alliance made up of FDLR and Tshisekedi’s forces.
On the question of FDLR genocidal group, barely a few seconds after acknowledging they exist, he flip-flopped. “Some of the genocidaires are in rebel-controlled [areas],” he ridiculously proposed. “Burundi handed over FDLRs to Rwanda,” he also mentioned. Yet a few days before, his Foreign Affairs Minister, Édouard Bizimana claimed that FDLR was a hoax! In reality, as mentioned in numerous UN reports, FDLRs live and plot in Bujumbura. In fact, even some members of his immediate security detail are known FDLR recruits unable to speak Kirundi!
The head of state of the poorest country in the world was definitely on a mission on behalf of his ally Felix Tshisekedi. He literally left Burundi fuelless, penniless, and hopeless but opted to use the interview to propagate falsehoods. On a diplomatic mission at the UN General Assembly, he simply behaved like a hired mouthpiece.
“How stupid and uninformed does he think the France24 audience is? Luckily, the journalist reminded the audience that Ndayishimiye is the Burundian President; otherwise, they would have assumed him to be a Congolese government troll,” a diplomat reacted. “Even on continental matters, Ndayishimiye failed and brushed it off as regional issues,” the diplomatic source revealed while commenting on the answer provided on the Sahel and ECOWAS issue.
The 13-minute interview confirmed what was already known: Ndayishimiye is simply not competent enough to serve as a head of state, and definitely not as the Chairperson of the African Union. As it turns out, even pushing cheap propaganda is too much for Ndayishimiye aka NEVA.
