One Lt. Gen. Hakizimana of FDLR (Commissioner of Operations) who also happens to be one of Tshisekedi’s key pawns, met his end recently in a battle clash with the M23.
Tshisekedi’s reckless alliance with the genocidaires of FDLR is collapsing spectacularly. The death of the notorious Lt. Gen. Hakizimana at the hands of the Lions of Sarambwe is a critical blow to that evil alliance. Adding to this humiliation, the M23 has seized Kaniro and Katare, with Masisi on the brink of falling.
So, what does Tshisekedi do in the face of such humiliation? Negotiate? Compromise? Seek peace? Of course not!
Instead, the deluded fellow digs his heels in, refusing to engage with the M23, as if his sheer stubbornness will change the reality on the ground. It’s even funny how he clings to the illusion of control while his faulty plans continue to fail at every turn.
Perhaps Tshisekedi believes that by holding onto his genocidaires of FDLR and their blood-soaked legacy, he can rewrite history. But as the M23 continues to dismantle his operations, the reality is clearer: Tshisekedi is out of moves and increasingly, out of time.
Tshisekedi has to be sane and realizes that his stubbornness will lead to his downfall. Now, it’s the right time to change or he will be remembered as the stubborn architect of his own undoing.
