Burundi’s bumbling president, Evariste Ndayishimiye aka Gen. Neva is in deep trouble. His misadventures in DR Congo brought no money and the armed groups he sent as mercenaries (a motley mixture of Burundi Army troops and the notorious Imbonerakure militia) are dying like flies in Tshisekedi’s wars.
Gen. Neva has run out of excuses, not mentioning explanations, what the poor Burundian troops (and even Imbonerakure thugs and rapists) are still doing in DRC where M23 has massively hit them.
Gen. Neva has now become paranoid. He fears a military coup d’etat. In fact he sees a coup everywhere he walks to!
The Congolese ruling thug Tshisekedi bribed his Burundian to send troops (to join the Congolese army FARDC, FDLR genocidaires, and Wazalendo terrorists) to massacre innocent Tutsi communities. Little did an intellectually challenged “DD” like Neva assess that this would end badly.
The DD president even promised that his men would win “within a month or two.” Loool! M23 inflicted some astounding losses on the fools.
So far, Neva’s guns for hire have lost every single battle, and reports indicate that most Burundians armed thugs only loot and rape. They don not want to die in Congo for Neva or Tshisekedi.
Neva had received a down payment to facilitate deployment, but since then, nothing. No money is coming from DR Congo. Tshisekedi refused to send any, unless Neva fulfills his promised to defeat M23.
Furthermore, Neva had also agreed that Burundi’s borders would be used to attack Rwanda, but this too turned out to be empty bravado. Gen. Neva’s cross-border attack plans also failed.
The defeats in DRC also pose another challenge for him.
How does he tell Burundian families that their loved ones died in a war caused purely by his greed?
Gen. Neva’s initial plan was that any soldier that died or that was captured in Congo was to be immediately branded as a deserter or traitor. That failed straight away. How could the lie be sustained that everyone was a deserter or traitor?
Now, families are told, “We are saddened by the passing of your loved one in a tragic car accident!”
To add insult to injury the regime adds, “we had to bury him immediately because the mortuary was full!” The desperate Neva has to fake imaginary army trucks in imaginary road accidents, to justify hundreds of deaths per week.
This fool is way out of his depths.
Burundians, especially Burundian army personnel are all incandescent with anger at their ruler. Tshisekedi too is angry.
Even cronies will admit that Ndayishimiye aka Gen. Neva is simply out of his depths in DR Congo, and his lies of a quick, easy war long dead.
Burundi has had its share of poor and incompetent rulers, but the lunatic called Neva is in a league of his own.
Lord help the innocents of Burundi!
