Recently a video circulated where the incompetent ruler of Burundi Evariste Ndayishimiye alias Gen. Neva, alias potato president, was berating Burundians (those that still have some wealth) to stop buying vehicles. He fulminated that instead they should give away (their money!) to buy fuel.
To begin with, the volatile economic situation Burundi is going through only is the result of terrible governance by Gen. Neva’s rule. The man simply is a peasant clown that in a sane world should be managing a butchery, in a slum neighborhood, at most.
His incompetence plus insatiable greed pushed him to deviate all public funds in financing his ragtag army d so as to rent it out to the Tshisekedi regime next door, which is engaged in a campaign of genocide in the east of DRC.
Gen. Neva thought that his troops once in DRC would secure mining concessions for him, and other “DD” fat cats close to him, to exploit (as per the promises of Tshisekedi – who also is paying Neva US$ 5000 per soldier) to exploit. Foolish peasant that Neva is, he failed to see that Burundian so-called troops are the mangy dogs of militaries.
And so once in DRC they got annihilated by the M23. Which meant the Burundians got no mineral concessions. Which further meant Gen. Neva only got bodies being returned to Burundi, instead of minerals.
The bad news kept piling up.
Burundi’s famished economy spiraled down to unprecedented levels. Today the cost of the most basic consumer goods, sugar, kitchen salt, cooking oil, tea, stuff like that, has never been so high in the history of Burundi (according to beleaguered citizens). Most Burundians simply do without these items.
When it comes to the cost of transport, electricity, running water etc, the situation is simply dire.
In this appalling context Gen. Neva opens his mouth to blame the very few Burundi citizens with enough money to buy cars, for fuel shortages! It’s insane.
Even as the clown berates people for buying vehicles, his wife Angeline Ndayishimiye aka Gucci has been procuring ultra-luxurious cars for herself. Many wonder about the hypocrisy of Neva, badmouthing those that can afford to buy a vehicle doing so, when his Marie Antoinette of a wife is buying stretch limousines.
Why can’t his so called austerity measures begin from his own home!
Burundi under Gen. Neva is doomed, unless brave citizens do something to stop the Neva circus.
