This past weekend three Wazalendo goons were captured and lynched while attempting to loot a shop near Trois Lampes in the Karisimbi area of Goma. The lynching was terrible, and it included some actually burning and eating the bodies of the two goons!
Fed up with these thugs, a product of Tshisekedi’s hostility towards Congolese of the east, the people of Goma are taking justice into their own hands – to confront the rampant armed robbery and banditry fueled by these criminals.
It is a rage caused by atrocities inflicted by Wazalendo and other bandit groups sponsored by Kinshasa to terrorize the east, mainly the Kivus.
When Tshisekedi created, trained, and armed these thugs under the pretext of fighting the M23, North Kivu became completely lawless. Violent robbery, extortion, and rape became the order of the day.
Now, their wave of malefaction has spiraled out of control, and the people of Goma are suffocating under the crushing weight of crime.
Countless reports reveal a disturbing surge in sexual violence against women. In July, approximately 800 rape cases were recorded in Goma, along with hundreds of incidents of theft.
The bad news is the suffering of the people of Goma is likely to persist, as Tshisekedi himself, the architect behind the suffering inflicted by his army FARDC as well as militias (Wazalendo, FDLR, and so many others) admitted in an interview with “Le Monde” that the very forces he created are now uncontrollable.
The lawlessness of DRC is a hydra-headed monster that in the long run will eat even the one that created it.
