Haunted by Father’s role in Genocidal, Denise Zaneza spins lies to tarnish Rwanda

Denise Zaneza’s recent propaganda piece in Vanguard Africa, titled “INGABIRE DAY: A TRANSCENDENT STRUGGLE FOR RWANDANS DIGNITY,” published on October 14, 2024, is rife with deception and distortion.

Before dismantling her fabrications, it’s crucial to highlight that media outlets like Vanguard Africa, which glorify Ingabire, mirror those who seek to rewrite history and celebrate figures like Adolf Hitler and Josef Goebbels—men whose roles in the Holocaust cannot be forgotten.

To begin with, Zaneza is the daughter of Marcel Sebatware, a self-proclaimed “refugee” in Belgium, who stands accused of committing genocide against the Tutsi in Bugarama/Cyangugu during his tenure as General Director of the CIMERWA cement factory. It’s worth noting that Zaneza was not just influenced by her father but also educated by others implicated in the genocide—the very architects of the propaganda that justified the genocide against the Tutsi.

Moreover, Zaneza asserts that “Since its inception in 2014, Ingabire Day has gained traction, with Rwandan communities in Europe, Australia, and, since 2019, even in Rwanda, observing it each year.” This assertion merely indicates that Ingabire Day has become a rallying point for a network of infamous genocide apologists who are hell-bent on denying the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi and propagating the absurd notion of a Hutu genocide.

Furthermore, Zaneza claims that “Ingabire has become a powerful symbol of the broader struggle for democracy.” However, the term ‘Democracy’ holds a sinister connotation for adherents of the PARMEHUTU ideology. For them, democracy equates to Hutu supremacy, with Tutsi being relegated to a status beneath consideration as fellow Rwandans. In their twisted worldview, “Republican” denotes the leadership of the “Hutu,” while “Democracy” means the governance of the Hutu over the excluded Tutsi.

In conclusion, Zaneza’s unwavering determination, passionate zeal, and obstinate refusal to accept reality position her among a minuscule group of extremists intent on inflicting unnecessary pain on the survivors of the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi. She has consistently vowed, both publicly and privately, to maintain her visceral hostility toward the Rwandan Patriotic Front (RPF), the very force that dismantled the genocidal Hutu Power regime in 1994.
