With only 6 days left for the DRC general elections, the Congolese outgoing ruler Tshisekedi is increasingly revealing his tactics to rig elections and is afraid of being toppled by the strong opposition candidates, his presidential campaign has shown the facts that he will not be elected, he wants to maintain power by any means necessary, some of his tactics to rig the elections have been revealed by himself.
Tshisekedi’s Wazalendo groups are already installed in every territory and they will be involved in the electoral process, a few days ago a video of Wazalendo in Congolese army fatigues circulated on social media intimidating voters to vote in favor of Tshisekedi in easter DRC.
The Wazalendo were heard chest-thumbing: “You must vote for Tshisekedi, anyone who does not do so will be punished”, the armed groups mobilized in the east of the DRC to fight the m23, in the run-up to the elections in the DRC, all lined up behind Félix Tshisekedi with a high probability of influencing the electoral process in the east of the DRC, the votes cast under pressure from gun barrels are already visible in the east of the DRC.
About 1700 voting machines were burned in Bukavu by Tshisekedi partisans who wanted to steal elections, this was done after a few hours of Tshisekedi campaign rally in that city of South Kivu, where his campaign team was shocked by the presence of Tshisekedi supporters and they decided to order their partisans to destroy the warehouse of electoral kit, shockingly the electoral commission was aware but they don’t say anything.
Tshisekedi’s campaign rally is characterized by intimidating and oppressing opposition candidates to steal the election, yesterday his big contender Moise Katumbi temporarily suspended his campaign rally in some parts of DRC like Kananga and Tshikapa because of several attempts of assassination being done by Tshisekedi and his partisans, Tshisekedi has vowed to attack Moise Katumbi in his speeches by calling him foreigner and enemy of the country, this has followed by assassination attempts done in Moanda where Tshisekedi sent his mob to cause mayhem. It’s reported that Katumbi ‘s bodyguard is severely wounded, and many others, police are shooting with live bullets and no investigation was done.
Tshisekedi is already known for stealing elections, even in 2018, he was declared the winner because of the shady deal between him and Kabila. Tshisekedi declared the winner with 38.57% of the vote, followed by Fayulu with 34.8% and lastly Shadary with 23.8%, there numbers were irreconcilable with multiple independent reports, including the catholic church which showed that the election was rigged in favour of Tshisekedi, the catholic church showed that Fayulu earned 59.4% and Tshisekedi earned a mere 19%, this is now what Tshisekedi wants to repeat.
The Congolese people deserve a fair election, even if the international community urges for fair and transparent elections in DRC, much evidence shows how Tshisekedi wants to steal the votes.
