Lately, Ingabire Victoire has been making rounds at several western media, trying to throw a wrench into the UK-Rwanda Migration and Economic Development Partnership. Ingabire has juggled that maneuver to sabotage the deal with playing the sympathy card, wrongly recounting that she is “the victim of human rights violations in Rwanda.” However, the woman buries the fact that she is a victim of her political agenda that has ever intended to reinject genocidal ideology in Rwanda.
Early after the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi, Ingabire Victoire joined perpetrators of that genocide who created RDR (Rally for the Return of Refugees and Democracy in Rwanda). The impenitent genocidaires like Théoneste Bagosora, Tharcisse Renzaho, Ferdinand Nahimana, Hassan Ngeze, and Augustin Bizimungu who founded RDR, had intention to re-arm and forcefully return to Rwanda and finish up the genocide against the Tutsi.
Before some of the genocidaires in RDR started being arrested, they groomed Ingabire and helped her ascend to the leadership of RDR. In 2000, Ingabire became the leader of the flock of genocidaires. In 2006, the RDR leadership decided to facelift the so-called political party and renamed it FDU Inkingi. The move was intended to conceal their connection with the genocidaires who were being arrested. Ingabire became the first chairperson of the clique.
In 2010, Ingabire tried to revive Hutu power ideology and politics in Rwanda, the time she returned to Rwanda to register FDU Inkingi and participate in presidential election. This is unequivocally explained by her statement at the Kigali Genocide Memorial that advocated for the Hutu remembrance which trivialized the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. Her mission to revive the Hutu power ideology is explained by evidence of Ingabire’s collaboration with the FDLR which was seized by Dutch police at her residence in Netherlands.
Furthermore, after being released on presidential clemency, Ingabire continued to advocate for FDLR – a genocidal rebel that wants to overthrow Rwandan leadership and reinstates Hutu power. Ingabire with her scores of ghost-written articles in western media has consistently defended the genocidal rebel. In a piece, she wrote for African Arguments titled “Rwanda, too, needs to make amends” in April, Ingabire portrayed FDLR as “defenders of Rwandans refugees in DRC.”
Now, given the path Rwanda set in Urugwiro meetings back in 1998-1999 which was to establish a governance system that is devoid of discrimination and ethnic differentiation among Rwandans; it is incontestable to say that Ingabire has assaulted Rwandan society by wanting to resurrect the ideology that sank the country.
Every time Ingabire peddles allegations against Rwanda, the public should well know that the woman is playing a sympathy card to sway the public opinion in her favor.
