Jambo ASBL, a Belgium-based group with a membership that reads like a who’s who of the offspring of the perpetrators of the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi, has once again announced that on December 2, 2023 in Belgium, they will raise funds to support the FDLR, the military of the genocidal establishment. Founded in January 2008 by Placide Kayumba, son of Dominique Ntawukuriryayo, the former (Sous-Préfet) of Gisagara, who was sentenced to 25 years by the former International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR), Jambo asbl seems unapologetically committed to a Hutu-Power extremist ideology while scheming white people to line their pockets under the guise of supporting their genocidal cause.
Certainly, being the offspring of a genocidaire is not a crime. Rwanda, as part of its policy, actively works to reassure and provide comfort to such individuals, shielding them from any sense of inherent guilt or stigma. However, what is considered a crime is the act of fundraising for armed groups like FDLR, sanctioned by the UN and the US, with the aim of overthrowing Rwanda’s democratically elected government. FDLR seeks to reinstate the racial Nazi regime that fell during the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi, a result of the liberation struggle led by the Rwandan Patriotic Front.
Initially, those referred to as “Rwandan refugees in eastern DRC by Jambo are, in fact, FDLR terrorists and vulnerable groups used as human shields by the organization. In fact, FDLR members wishing to return to Rwanda, particularly the younger ones, are held hostage by hardliners, many suspected participants in the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi. Moreover, there no Rwandan refugees in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) since The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) declared the cessation clause for Rwandan refugees on June 30, 2013, effective from January 1, 2018. Retired Gen. James Kabarebe once stated, “FDLR is lost stuck in its history of genocide! What legitimacy does FDLR have staying in DRC, raping, killing, and looting for nearly three decades? FDLR has exported genocide to DRC.”
However, the leadership of Jambo ASBL has consistently traveled to E. DRC, providing financial, military, and other support to FDLR. In June 2014, Jambo ASBL members, led by Kayumba Placide, visited DRC to locate FDLR leaders like Maj Gen Victor Byiringiro. Discussions centered on FDLR’s activities aimed at overthrowing Rwanda’s government. Following this meeting, Kayumba met with FDLR descendants, delivering a “message of solidarity and sympathy” along with financial facilitation collected from Western countries.
Furthermore, Jambo ASBL seeks to sustain support for FDLR, especially after the FARDC’s recent warning against collaboration with this genocidal and terrorist group. They exploit the ignorance of certain individuals to collect funds, enrich themselves in Europe, and contribute to the suffering of the Congolese people under FDLR, known perpetrators of various crimes, including rape and violence against women.
In summary, it is not surprising that Jambo ASBL raises funds for the jungle-based terrorist group FDLR, given their online presence and agenda promoting ethnically-based killings in Rwanda and the DRC. Despite Rwanda’s army deploying along the border, any attack by the Jambo-funded FDLR would be virtually suicidal, as it has always been since the summer of 1994.
