BUSTED: Tshisekedi rewards blacklisted genocidal group FDLR full control of huge area bordering Rwanda

The alliance between the DR Congo army (FARDC) and FDLR – the notorious anti-Rwanda group born of ex-FAR and Interahamwe genocidaires, is finally publically unfolding despite futile efforts by Congolese authorities to bury the truth.

This time around, the United Nations Group of Experts has stepped in to reveal that Kinshasa guaranteed the FDLR full control of Virunga National Park bordering Rwanda and that the genocidal and terrorist group is currently using the park to re-organize itself by mainly doing mass recruitment across the eastern part of the country.

The report also brings to light that FDLR controls all businesses and operations within the park on the DRC side. All these revelations are a clear indication that President Tshisekedi, who also doubles as FARDC commander-in-chief opted to reward FDLR for its support in the ongoing civil war pitting FARDC and M23 rebels since FDLR is fighting alongside the Congolese army.

By awarding FDLR full control of the Congolese territory that borders Rwanda, Tshisekedi was facilitating the blacklisted genocidal and terrorist group to keep wrecking terrorism on Rwanda through hit-and-run attacks as FDLR has done in the past.

The damning revelations about the FARDC-FDLR alliance are overwhelmingly coming in at a time when the Congolese army started releasing fighters of the FDLR that had been incarcerated in various prisons across the country.

The exercise is part of the “Pinga agreement” that the two parties recently reached in Rutshuru territory in an attempt “to fast-track” the ongoing war against M23 rebels with FDLR terrorists fighting for the Congolese army.

Rwanda’s demand to the DRC authorities has always been to arrest FDLR criminals, bring them to book, or deport them to their native country for trial; something that always falls on deaf ears. Rather, DRC opted to give FDLR a semblance of legitimacy, notwithstanding the history and the gravity of its crimes.

However, the status quo has to change with the Congolese authorities recommitting to uproot the FDLR if the region is to be safe.
