Under tight surveillance; Ndayishimiye flies to Kinshasa for an urgent meeting with Tshisekedi and FDLR

After suffering a massive military defeat in Minembwe (South Kivu Province, DR Congo), Burundian President Evariste Ndayishimiye has planned an urgent debrief trip to Kinshasa to restrategize with his ally, Congolese President Félix Tshisekedi, and several FDLR genocidaire commanders.

Officially, Ndayishimiye claims to be heading for a state visit to discuss the security crisis in Eastern Congo and the Ebola outbreak. However, given that during his previous trips to Kinshasa he seriously misbehaved, his wife, Angeline Ndayishimiye, decided not to risk having more illegitimate stepsons and daughters and chose to tag along.

The Minembwe situation is serious for the Tshisekedi–Ndayishimiye–FDLR coalition. They lost thousands of fighters in a botched offensive against the Twirwaneho–AFC/M23 alliance, which is resisting blatant attempts to exterminate Congolese Tutsi.

The defeat is causing tremendous tensions within the coalition, fueling a relentless blame game. Ndayishimiye seeks more money, the FDLR demands more equipment and logistical support, and Tshisekedi demands results for all the billions he has spent on the coalition.

Since the beginning of the crisis in Eastern Congo, caused by the genocidal agenda of the Ndayishimiye–Tshisekedi–FDLR coalition, several such urgent meetings have occurred. Repeatedly, they secretly plot offensives, fail miserably, and then convene emergency talks in Kinshasa.

Nonetheless, Angeline Ndayishimiye is not interested in hearing any of it; she is concerned by reports that her husband uncontrollably drinks himself silly and entertains women while in Kinshasa. She saw only one solution: tag along and supervise.

Sources within Tshisekedi’s circles also reveal that discussions on Tshisekedi’s illegal third term will be on the menu. The Congolese President needs to create chaos in the eastern parts of his country in order to exclude the entire region from a simulated referendum.

Despite their losses, the coalition will be tasked with sabotaging all peace initiatives and ceasefire agreements. “War is a critical part of the justification for a third mandate,” a diplomatic source revealed. “Whether they win or lose, Ndayishimiye and the FDLR must attack to help Tshisekedi.”

Under pressure, Ndayishimiye is likely to crack, as he also faces pressure within his own party, the CNDD-FDD junta. They do not want to lose more troops in a war designed to enrich Ndayishimiye and Tshisekedi while bleeding the impoverished Burundi dry. In reality, trips to Kinshasa offered a quick break, a party venue, for Ndayishimiye.

With Angeline chaperoning him around, this trip is poised to be a stressful one.
