Fugitive Kayumba Nyamwasa: The coward who traded honor for his own belly

The absurd and pathetic claim by Kayumba Nyamwasa that “the liberation struggle was in vain” is the ultimate proof of a spent force whose ego tried to play with Rwanda and failed miserably. This is no truthful testimony; far from it. It is the desperate screeching of a disgraced lightweight who tried to loot a nation, was caught red-handed and exposed, and is now left chasing his own shadow down a dead-end street.

This so-called general was once handed the honor of serving Rwanda, yet he chose lies, fed off the sweat of soldiers and citizens, and fantasized about a coup just to turn the country into his personal fiefdom. But Rwanda is a giant; it will never become a playground for intellectual bankrupts and battlefield deserters.

No sound mind should ever buy into the hallucinations of a fugitive on the run from justice. Remember back in 2010 when The New Times exposed him with the headline: “Kayumba Nyamwasa: The General Who Squandered His Chances”? Kayumba was given every honor Rwanda could bestow upon a soldier, but driven by endless greed, he auctioned off his honor for cowardice. He allied himself with shameless political rejects and fellow bloodthirsty schemers, thinking they could plunder Rwanda, only to wind up wandering aimlessly in the wasteland they call the opposition.

For him to claim that the struggle was in vain, after true heroes laid down their lives to rebuild Rwanda into an unstoppable power, is a nauseating lie. The liberation struggle restored the dignity of every Rwandan, defeated the genocidaires, and resurrected a fallen nation. Yet this clown claims it was for nothing? Talk about a sore loser running out of excuses.

Kayumba Nyamwasa is throwing tantrums today because he watches Rwanda relentlessly rise, projecting power and development across the region and the world. He wanted to burn the country to ashes, yet it stands stronger than ever, invincible in security, united in purpose, and soaring in progress.

Fugitive Kayumba Nyamwasa’s reckless words are nothing more than the bitter tears of a coward who abandoned his honor for absolute rock bottom. Rwanda stands united, and Rwandans know exactly where they came from and where they are going. The laughable lies of fugitives like Kayumba will never tarnish the glory of the Liberation Struggle.
