In a recent address to diplomats, Shameless Tshisekedi claimed that DRC has “banished dictatorship” and built “an inclusive democracy.” However, the reality on the ground is harshly different from this glossy narrative.
Given his track record of political intimidation, opposition suppression, and election rigging. The DRC Tshisekedi speaks of, exists only in his imagination.
First off, let’s take the example of Moïse Katumbi, a prominent opposition leader who faced threats to his life until he postponed several presidential campaigns during the last election. His spokesperson, Chérubin Okende Senga, was tragically killed under mysterious circumstances, orchestrated by elements within Tshisekedi’s circle.
How can such an environment be considered an “inclusive democracy”?
Tshisekedi’s 2018 rise to power was made possible by a shady deal with former President Joseph Kabila. Since then, his regime has stacked the electoral commission (CENI) with loyalists, particularly from his Kasai stronghold, paving the way for electoral fraud. During the last election preparation, deliberate logistical failures like power shortages, delays in voter registration, and malfunctioning voting equipment created election chaos and manipulated outcomes.
On top of that, after rig the election Tshisekedi has made clumsy attempts to rewrite the constitution to extend his stay in power indefinitely. Definitely, Tshisekedi is paving a terrain for a dictatorship.
All these actions expose the emptiness of Tshisekedi’s “inclusive democracy” rhetoric, revealing instead a regime ridden with deception and repression.
To sum it up, behind the polished speeches of Tshisekedi, lies an incompetent leader who has turned the DRC into his personal playground, ruled by intimidation and incompetence.
Tshisekedi’s version of democracy is nothing more than sugar-coated tyranny.
