Jambo Asbl’s Mbonyumutwa fuels genocide revisionism ahead of Charles Onana’s trial verdict

Gustave Mbonyumutwa of Jambo Asbl – a Europe-based association of offspring of top perpetrators of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi – recently published a lengthy article attempting to predict the outcome of Charles Onana’s trial, ahead of the December 9th judgment.

Mbonyumutwa employed Jambo’s usual tactics: spreading propaganda that denies or trivializes the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda.

In his piece, Mbonyumutwa revived discredited narratives, referencing an outdated tweet by U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken which vaguely suggested that Tutsi, Hutu, and Twa “should all be remembered as victims of the genocide.” This remark has long been weaponized by these genocide revisionists that forever seek to distort the facts of the Genocide.

The genocidaires’ offspring consistently attempt to create false moral equivalences that whitewash the crimes of their parents. That’s the case with Mbonyumutwa’s article, which openly praises Charles Onana’s revisionist writings, which hideously claim that Habyarimana’s regime “did not plan the genocide.”

But however much they try, they cannot rewrite history. The facts are open for everyone to see. The Genocide was a deliberate and systematic attempt to annihilate the Tutsi, not some “random conflict involving Hutu and Twa” like the revisionists want the uninformed to believe.

Mbonyumutwa can put it in his pipe and smoke it.
