The Congolese outgoing ruler Tshisekedi is preparing for massive electoral fraud, he has always known that he is unpopular and cannot win the elections having antagonized and alienated important figures including Joseph Kabila, who helped him steal the last election, Tshisekedi knows he is on his own and must therefore improvise.
Recently the EU withdrew its electoral experts deployed in DRC citing a lack of transparency and integrity in the election, the observers claimed that they were blocked by authorities in Kinshasa, the observers were responsible for monitoring the electoral process but the Kinshasa regime failed to work with them which caused EU to withdraw their observers.
Twenty days left for the election, the Independent National Electoral Commission (CENI) is yet to publish the final list of voters, the numbers show only 39% of the DRC population were registered for voting, many provinces have no voting centres and people have no voting cards.
The CENI deliberately created problems of lack of power, sources of machines, delays in registration, delivery of kits, solar panels, and cables, in order to organize electoral chaos to prepare for fraud.
The CENI is full of Kasaians including the president of the Commission and other key leaders they were all appointed by Tshisekedi who is also a Kasaian to do everything possible to help him to stay in office, and many reforms were made inside the commission, such as creating more voting centres in his home province of Kasai, preparing to enrol thousands of ghost voters all in favour of Tshisekedi.
Tshisekedi has already appointed the judges responsible for it in his favour and those judges are his close friends and family members who are tasked to do everything to save him.
Last month Tshisekedi declared that some parts of Eastern DRC will not cast their vote, citing the insecurity problem, this is a false excuse because he knows that the population of Rutshuru, Masisi, and other parts can’t vote for him which is why he decided to exclude those people from choosing their leader.
Catholic Church in DRC which is very influential in DRC has raised concerns over the Tshisekedi regime’s handling of the voter registration process, and the publication of the roll.
Tshisekedi has, all along, been plotting and creating the right setting for electoral fraud. The lack of transparency over the registration process is meant to favour Tshisekedi.
