David Murunganwa nicknamed “Himbara” could not wait before- Rwanda’s State Minister for Regional Cooperation- Gen (Rtd) James Kabarebe’s remarks were delivered. The glutton propagandist joins the bandwagon of anti-Rwanda motor-mouthed agents to spin Kabarebe’s statement with a view of promoting their debunked narratives to portray Rwanda as a failed state.
Rwanda has largely played a crucial in the stabilization of the region. Rwanda, being a stakeholder in regional peace and security in the region known for endless civil wars and armed conflict, has steadfastly committed to cooperating with neighboring states to tame insecurity through bilateral and multilateral initiatives. Rwanda has contributed troops in different aspects including capacity building, and intelligence that jointly served with counterparts in the region to address the contemporary security threats.
Himbara, a man driven by vendetta sidesteps prevailing facts on Rwanda’s immense contribution to the peace that the region enjoyed before conflicts remerged in the eastern DRC. Rwanda’s army- RDF executed an operation codenamed “Omoja Wetu” stipulated in the security treaty between Rwanda and DRC to fight and disarm FDLR and other armed groups that had ravaged the Kivu Provinces. The joint military action yielded positive results and neutralized, weakened illegal armed rebellions that had plunged Congo into turmoil. This was the last peace that the population of North Kivu Province enjoyed before failed regimes in Kinshasa reorganized and armed FDLR to inflict violence on innocent citizens.
Himbara’s allegations against Rwanda on plundering of DRC resources were dismissed by a competent court. The RNC charlatan Murunganwa chose to be willfully dumb and blind to the facts at his disposal. We all recall how the International Court of Justice-ICJ ruled on Congo’s looting case against Rwanda. After a thorough independent interrogation, the judges determined that the accusations were baseless and therefore found nothing substantial to prosecute Rwanda on. ICJ, subsequently, ruled that Rwanda didn’t pillage DRC mineral resources, thus quashing the case. If Himbara, a member of a terrorist organization-RNC, has a kangaroo court somewhere in his hideout in Toronto that can prosecute Rwanda on imaginary crimes committed in DRC, he should proceed and argue his case.
Himbara has a mountain to climb to see President Kagame and Rwanda failing. Just like his like-minded fellows, Murunganwa still can’t grasp why Rwanda didn’t become a failed state. Despite having run a nation from scratch without mineral resources and drained state coffers, President Kagame proved his doubters wrong, Rwanda embarked on a tough journey, rebuilt the nation from ashes to become a politically stable state and a fast-growing economy. Such track-record won’t be altered by mere falsehoods packaged in the form of a report- The Mapping Report also referred to as the “Trash Report”.
The RNC mouthpiece Himbara’s run-of-the-mill propaganda stunts against a reputable nation like Rwanda and her leader President Kagame are only for the short-sighted and gullible’s consumption. The blackmail campaign against the Rwandan Government has proven ineffective, maybe the RNC purveyor, Himbara could try a putsch.
