From years-long of partnering with terrorist armed groups, seeking sympathy from the international community with childish claims of victimhood, or hiring of mercenaries with criminal intent, Congolese ruler Tshisekedi is a man caught in a self-entangled web that he cannot escape.
In pursuit of a peaceful Great Lakes region, the EAC devised a peaceful process, headed by Nairobi and Luanda. However, Tshisekedi opted for the opposite, empowered terrorist armed groups such as the genocidal FDLR, and topped it all by importing mercenaries, rendering the EACRF tourists in his country.
Tshisekedi’s shortcomings as a leader stick out like a sore thumb. The man, who yearns for recognition from his people, is only adding fuel to the fire. Congolese need a leader who can command authority, put their interests at the forefront, and strive to secure and protect their country by disarming rebels and terrorists, rather than laying in the same bed.
For decades on, all the Congolese have wanted is a secure nation. Because being refugees in their own country, a hub for all sorts of communicable diseases and instability is all they have known. Tshisekedi only had one assignment- and that was to pluck his people out of the hell hole of misery regardless of who liked him or who didn’t. But alas, the man is fueling war instead of backing the peace efforts, while his national army FARDC, in conjunction with genocidaire remnants- FDLR, entwined with mercenaries, are distributing war weapons to civilians encouraging them to wipe out fellow Congolese Tutsi.
Tshisekedi’s legitimacy won’t come from war, nor from being the first president who bedded terrorists to drown his people in bloodshed. It comes from bearing a strong vision for the country and putting his interests aside.
