The Tshisekedi regime continues to expose its cluelessness concerning what the Congolese people, and DRC itself, want. While the region and the international community are cracking their heads trying to find a sustainable solution to the unending security problems in the east of the country, the Tshisekedi regime is busy sabotaging the efforts.
It is quite disheartening to listen to the continued reckless anti-peace utterances made by Tshisekedi and his allies at a time when the world is expressing enthusiasm that a sustainable solution is on the way for the east of DRC. It is starting to look like Congolese regime officials are in a contest to see who plunges the entire country into total anarchy. “Legislators”like Dieudonné Nkishi from the ‘Congo Positif’ party is keen on taking the anti-peace trophy, after recommending that the border between Congo, Rwanda, and Uganda must be closed and expel “infiltrators” from the soil of Congo. Mind you, by “infiltrators”, the hatemonger legislator is referring to Kinyarwanda-speaking Congolese who have been under persecution in DRC for decades.
Nkishi also calls for the withdrawal of DRC from all regional political and economic groupings as well as Sever diplomatic, economic, security, and commercial relations with Congo’s neighbors. Ironically, the “legislator” seems to believe that his recommendations, not the regional mechanisms that are already in the pipeline, are what Congo needs for sustainable peace.
This is not in the least surprising for a regime that’s in bed with the perpetrators of the 1194 Genocide Against the Tutsi in Rwanda. The Tshisekedi regime has incorporated the FDLR terrorist group into their political and military affairs. With the genocidaires as their valued advisers, it is no wonder that Tshisekedi and his cronies are averse to a peaceful settlement of the insecurity in eastern Congo.
