The ruling that “Rwanda is not safe” is a white lie crafted by the UK court to cover up the government’s failure to address the pressing immigration crisis in the country. It’s been all systems go within the circles of anti-Rwanda and self-proclaimed Rwandan critics’ following the United Kingdom Supreme Court’s ruling on the relocation of unsolicited asylum seekers to Rwanda.
However, the top court’s verdict relied on an unverifiable claim that “Rwanda isn’t safe for British immigrants, a move intended at concealing the UK Government’s rotten governance which failed to address the crisis.
Rwanda’s safety is not determined by the UK Court. There is a lot of ignorance being propagated by David Murunganwa alias Himbara who speaks for the ragtag anti-Rwanda terror group, RNC. The UNHCR recognized Rwanda as one of the preferred destinations for refugees and asylum seekers. The country provides refuge to over 127,000 refugees and 2,000 asylum seekers from Libya, Afghanistan, and Eritrea, among other countries.
Sobering facts show Rwanda is the safest country in Africa as rated by the Safety Index 2022. Rwanda scored 74.5 points followed by Tunisia and Ghana. The same country has been rated among the top tourist, international meetings, and conference destinations globally. This is a fact that Himbara omits, hence qualifying his arguments as biased. Despite the recurring waterloo suffered by Himbara and fellow reactionists, they keep repeating the same debunked lies without providing anything of evidential value to back their claims that Rwanda is a failure. It would be reckless for anybody to doubt Rwanda’s safety with such prevailing facts.
Labor Party’s Keir Starmer “ridiculous” claims are a diversion from his party’s inability to provide an alternative policy to “stop the boats”. Himbara rode on the Labor Party’s Keir Starmer’s misguided assertions on the UK-Rwanda Migration Partnership deal, forgetting that this a another failed politician whose political party failed to initiate a single policy to deal with thousands of immigrants. Starmer understands the complexity of the immigrant crisis but chose to oppose the Conservative party and Rwanda’s shared initiative to score cheap political points.
A fast-growing economy with USD13 trillion GDP wasn’t built on the UK’s £140 million asylum seekers’ grant. RNC mouthpiece Himbara argued that Rwanda suffered a blow by losing the British Government grant. However, the choleric propagandist omits prevailing facts on Rwanda’s ability to manage her affairs without relying on aid. The country finances her USD4.7 billion budget to the tune of 63%. This adds to meeting financial obligations including payment of maturing Eurobonds and effective servicing of the public debt.
Himbara and Co who wrongly thought that Rwanda banked on the asylum seekers’ money to survive ought to grasp some important facts about Rwanda. Rwanda operates within her means, that’s on record.
Before politicking, let everybody know that the £140 million was spent on building accommodation facilities for the immigrants and no single peanut was diverted. For Murunganwa, no matter how many times his lies are told, they won’t turn into truth. Rwanda moved on, the British Government will have to carry her cross and fix her internal political woes.
