Genocide fugitive, deniers shivering as a UN court rules “Kabuga fit for trial”

Fear has once again engulfed overseas-based cabals of fugitives and deniers of the 1994 Genocide against Tutsi following a decision by the Residual Mechanism for International Criminal Tribunals (RMICT) to put Felicien Kabuga, a key financier and mastermind of the genocide, on trial.

The decision was reached following the request by defence lawyers that Kabuga’s trial proceedings be halted owing to his “ill health”. The RMICT, however, ruled that the genocide big fish is medically fit to stand trial in The Hague where he is currently detained; a decision that indeed itched to the core the genocide apologists especially those from France where Kabuga had been hiding.

France is particularly a home to at least 47 indicted Genocide suspects such as Agathe Kanziga Habyarimana, widow of the genocidal regime ruler Habyarimana and hundreds of deniers and revisionists. Those include offspring of genocide perpetrators under Jambo ASBL among others who have been hiding in the European country for years, and the very same criminals have been supporting Kabuga’s tactics to delay his substantial trial.

The RMICT decision against Kabuga serves as a wakeup call to his fellow genocide fugitives, the should understand the criticality of the genocide crimes because they have no statute of limitations. Whoever played any role will meet his fate in a due course regardless of where he/she found refuge. It’s just a matter of time!
