The ongoing condemnation of hate speech by different groups and diplomatic corps in the DRC should graduate from, relatively empty statements into practical measures and enforcement of accountability.
Reports already indicate that more than 50 people (Kinyarwanda-speaking Congolese of Tutsi ethnic group) have been killed, while hundreds of others are fleeing for their lives. The victims are hopelessly roaming everywhere, looking for refuge against the Congolese machete-wielding mobs.
The campaign to identify, isolate, harass, torture, and execute Congolese Kinyarwanda-speaking Tutsis, is not spontaneous. It is well planned by the DRC government and officials who are drunk on primitive genocide ideology mostly spread by remnants of genocide perpetrators in Rwanda who fled to DRC after the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi.
People like Dr. Denis Mukwege, the Nobel Peace Prize winner; Daniel Aselo, DRC’s first vice prime minister, Noel Tshiani Muadiamvita, former Presidential Candidate, Martin Fayulu, DRC opposition leader; General Sylvian Ekenge (FARDC Spokesperson North Kivu), General Aba Van Ang, the provincial commissioner of the Congolese National Police in the province of North Kivu and many others have all been recorded inciting the masses to commit atrocities against Kinyarwanda-speaking Congolese.
There should be no reason whatsoever by the international community not to prosecute identifiable Congolese officials who were seen disseminating or promoting hate campaigns against Rwanda, and Congolese citizens of Tutsi ethnicity.
Their failure to take action against the hate speech perpetrators and culprits behind the killings of innocent Congolese is leading to more serious crimes against humanity.
