As the Ugandan regime announced an unprecedented crackdown on CSOs and NGOs (Civil Society and Non-Governmental Organizations), it included an embarrassing terrorist shell organization to the list, only to revive it under a different name. Uganda deregistered Self-Worth Initiative (SWI), run by notorious Kampala-based RNC operatives Sulah Nuwamanya and Prossy Bonabaana, and had it rebranded as “Self-Worth Development Initiatives” (SWDI).
Anyone that’s been following Museveni’s long-time plot to destabilize Rwanda knows that Self-Worth Initiative only was a front in Uganda for the political activities of the anti-Rwanda terrorist RNC (Rwanda National Congress) of Kayumba Nyamwasa.
Also RNC is Museveni’s main proxy group in his anti-Rwanda plotting, therefore it works hand in hand with Ugandan military intelligence (CMI) in their various activities: recruiting for RNC, fundraising for RNC, or cadreship training all of which Self-Worth Initiative “NGO” has been a disguise. In fact CMI even maintains residence for Nuwamanya and Bonabaana in Mutungo, Kampala, in one of its safe houses – the ones not used for torture.
Uganda however was badly embarrassed during talks to restore good relations between Kigali and Kampala – mediated by Angola and witnessed by DRC among others – when Rwanda showed with proof how SWI was a terrorist anti-Rwanda outfit, and questions were raised why the group still was in operation yet one of the conditions to restore good relations was disbanding all negative groups.
So Uganda made claims that “Self-Worth Initiative is banned.”
But, the Museveni regime’s duplicity is such that you can never trust it to do what it says.
Sure enough, they are maintaining Self-Worth Initiative, with slightly different initials. Now it is Self-Worth Development Initiative, SWDI.
As a terrorist shell organization, it works as a payable “membership-based organization” composed of different associations all over central, southern, and southwestern Uganda. Its mission still is to recruit for RNC, and conduct fundraising, setting up cells and disguising them with the name “Community Based Organization (CBO).”
According to our reliable sources, currently they have at least 17 of these in the following places: Kakumiro, Kibale, Kagadi, Kyenjojo, Kasese, Kamwenge, Kyegegwa, Kyankwanzi, Gomba, Sembabule, Rakai, Hoima, Rubare, Kiboga, Mityana, Isingiro, and Rubaare.
SWDI also calls these cells “United Farmers Development Initiatives”, but all are RNC operations under the control of SWDI. The funds they collect and the members they recruit are sent to RNC military camps, with the facilitation of CMI.
The purported inclusion of SWI in the disbanded NGOs was just one of the most dishonest ploys in Museveni’s underhanded dealings against Rwanda.
This too will deceive only the most gullible.
